South African road cycling champion, Darren Lill, started the year off on a perfect note when he led his Bonitas professional team to a podium clean sweep at the 85km Cycle Lab Cape Cobra Challenge in Cape Town on Sunday.

After two runner-up places and a third, Johann Rabie of Team Bonitas finally secured the stage race victory that’s eluded him in 2011 when he won the inaugural Tour de Free State, which finished in Bloemfontein on Sunday.

Darren Lill (Team Bonitas) once again justified his South African champion status when he won Stage 3 of the inaugural Tour de Free State road cycling stage race in Golden Gate National Park on Friday. Lill’s teammate, Johann Rabie finished third on the gruelling stage, but claimed the overall lead.

Johann Rabie, runner-up at the Cell C Tour of South Africa earlier this year, will get a rematch of sorts with Tour of South Africa winner, Christian House, at the Tour de Korea, which starts on Friday.

Rising South African star, Johann Rabie confirmed his good form when he won the opening stage and took the overall race leader’s Yellow Jersey at the of the Tour of Morocco international road cycling stage race on Friday.

After finishing second at the both the Cell C Tour of South and the Le Coq Sportif Tour de Boland in the past few weeks, Team Bonitas stage race specialist, Johann Rabie, has set his sights on victory at the Tour of Morocco, which starts in the coastal city of El Jadida on Friday.

Johann Rabie, runner-up at the inaugural Cell C Tour of South Africa two weeks ago, won a drama-filled Stage 3 of the Le Coq Sportif Tour de Boland on Thursday to take over the race leader’s Yellow Jersey and extend his lead in the points competition.

Team Bonitas rider, Johann Rabie, confirmed his ability to compete with distinction internationally, when he collected a number of accolades at the inaugural Cell C Tour of South Africa road cycling race, which finished on Saturday.
