A Promising Career from the Start

Emma Norsgaard first made headlines in 2016 at just 16 years old, when she claimed the Danish elite national road race title, marking the beginning of a promising career. Since then, she has achieved 15 career victories across various terrains. Her achievements include a dominant bunch sprint win at the Giro d’Italia, a victory at Le Samyn, and a daring long-range breakaway at the 2023 Tour de France Femmes.

From Sprinter to Classics Specialist

While Norsgaard initially built her reputation as a sprinter, she has since evolved into a versatile rider capable of excelling across diverse terrains. Her adaptability was on full display during her stage win at the Tour de France Femmes, a triumph she considers her greatest achievement to date. Now, Norsgaard has set her sights on becoming a classics specialist with a powerful finishing kick, and she dreams of one day winning the prestigious Tour of Flanders.

Excitement About Joining Lidl-Trek

Expressing her enthusiasm for joining Lidl-Trek, Norsgaard said, “This team has always been a dream team for me, and I really felt their confidence in me. I am so proud to become part of one of the absolute best teams in the world. After my first meeting with Trek, I already started dreaming about the upcoming season. I am eager to become a better cyclist and work with my new teammates to achieve our goals. My aim is to be the best version of myself and the best possible teammate.”

Lidl-Trek’s Vision for Norsgaard

Lidl-Trek General Manager Luca Guercilena shared his excitement about Norsgaard’s arrival, praising her talent and fit with the team’s racing style. “Emma is a phenomenal talent with a wide range of skills. Our team is known for its aggressive racing style, and I believe Emma will align perfectly with this. Her Tour de France stage win epitomized this attacking, never-say-die attitude.”

Guercilena also highlighted Norsgaard’s potential for growth, noting, “Even though Emma has been racing at the highest level for several years already, she is still a young rider. We believe she has the potential to become one of the top riders in the classics, and we’re excited to support her development over the next few years. She’s a rider who knows how to win in different scenarios, and we’re confident she’ll be a key asset to Lidl-Trek.”
