DAS-Hutchinson closure confirmed for end of 2026

The DAS-Hutchinson closure will end one of Britain’s most successful recent women’s UCI Continental programmes after the 2026 season.

The team said rising costs had made its current model unsustainable at UCI Continental level. That category sits below the professional ranks, yet still requires major investment in riders, staff, racing and logistics.

DAS-Hutchinson said it had enjoyed strong support from partners. However, the team said maintaining the programme at the level it wanted had become increasingly difficult. It confirmed it will not continue as a UCI Continental team in 2027.

The structure will not disappear entirely. The organisation will continue as a lower-ranked development club called Team OnForm, keeping a pathway in place for riders outside the UCI Continental tier.

DAS-Hutchinson closure follows domestic success

The team began in 2018 as Torelli-Brother and became a major force on the British domestic scene. It won four of the last five editions of the National Road Series, the leading women’s domestic road competition in Britain.

Those overall wins came through Sammie Stuart, Monica Greenwood, Robyn Clay and, most recently, Morven Yeoman. The run underlined the team’s place among the strongest women’s squads in the UK in recent seasons.

Team owner and founder Simon Howes described the project as an “incredible journey” across nine years. He said rider development had mattered more than any single result during the programme’s rise.

Howes said he felt proud of the opportunities the team had given riders. He also said teams like DAS-Hutchinson play an important role in the pathway within women’s cycling.

International invitations helped shape the team’s profile

DAS-Hutchinson also looked beyond the British calendar in recent years. The team accepted invitations to international WorldTour events, giving its riders exposure to higher-level racing.

Its programme included appearances at the Tour de Suisse, Vuelta a Burgos and the Tour of Flanders. Those starts placed the British Continental squad on some of the sport’s most prominent stages.

Several former riders have moved on to WorldTour teams. Anna Henderson now races for Lidl-Trek, while Becky Storrie and Robyn Clay have both progressed to Picnic PostNL.

Howes called the decision to end the Continental programme “incredibly difficult.” He said the timing now felt right and thanked riders, staff, volunteers, sponsors, partners and supporters for their roles.

The DAS-Hutchinson closure would leave three women’s UCI Continental teams in the UK next season: Handsling Alba Development, O’Shea RedChilli Bikes and Smurfit Westrock.

The men’s side has already lost its British UCI Continental representation. There have been no British men’s UCI Continental teams since Saint Piran collapsed in 2024.
